  • Originals are all clear flint glass (with lead content) And will give a bell tone when pinged.
  • Reproductions are all non-flint, or unleaded.  All coloured examples are reproductions.  Often the clear reproductions have a greeny or yellow tint to the glass.
  • All examples of this pattern were made by the Imperial Glass Company. Majority of these items were produced for the Gift Store at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York City.  Each of these examples are embossed with the initials "MMA".

 

  • In the early 1970's, the same manufacturer produced the 4-ounce wine glass.  This item, made by the Imperial Glass Company, was created for the Smithsonian Institute, in Washington, DC.  All of these examples are embossed with the institutes signature "SI".

All reproductions in this pattern will be signed, either with "SI" or "MMA".
